Model 801
Chemiluminescence NO-NO2-NOx Analyzer
Principle of Operation
Chemiluminescence corresponds to an oxidation of NO molecules by O3 molecules: NO + O3= NO2* + O2. The return to a fundamental electronic state of the excited NO2* molecules are made by luminous radiation in a 600-1200 nanometers spectrum: NO2*NO2 + hv, Where:h- planck constant, v- frequency of photons emitted. The radiation measurement is made by a photo-multiplier. The electrical signal it delivers is amplified and digitized for treatment by the microprocessor. Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) must first be transformed into NO before it can be measured using the luminescent reaction. NO2 is converted to NO by a molybdenum converter heated to about 200 ℃
